Fireworks [Debussy]

$250.00

Claude Debussy's Préludes are 24 pieces for solo piano, divided into two books of 12 preludes each. Unlike some notable collections of preludes from prior times, such as Chopin's Op. 28 preludes, or the preludes from Johann Sebastian Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier, Debussy's do not follow a strict pattern of tonal centers. The last movement from Book Two is ‘Fireworks’ (or ‘Feux d'artifice’ - modérément animé) is a dazzling technical display of virtuosity and color. Nathan’s orchestrations capitalize on the shimmering textures for large orchestra and is a thrilling showpiece for any celebratory event. Scored for 3 Fl (2° = Picc), 3 Ob (2° = E.Hn.), 3 Cl (2° = Bs. Cl.), 3 Bsn (2° = C’bsn); 4 Hn, 3 Tpt, 3 Tbn, Tuba, Timp, 4 Perc, Pno/Cel, 2 Hps, and Strings.
