Etude in E major

$25.00

Etude in E major is a re-working of one of the earliest pieces ever written down as an original composition. It is a collection of patterns of cascading arpeggios from which harmonies of beautiful chords are exploited in what is the first minimalist piece that first began a decade-long study into minimalism. It is based on the idea that both hands play similar arpeggios in the same direction, then changes in the opposite direction, and split into contrary motion and build in excitement and drama as the chords themselves delve into deeper and far more remote key centers, gradually coming back towards the original opening chords into E major. It is a beautiful, serene work but illicit passionate and fervent emotions mid-way through to sustain interest and define the larger tertiary-like form.
