At the Water

$25.00

At the Water is a brief piano solo in which is noticeably more lyrical and melodious than many of the other piano works in this collection. The entire temperament of this piece is suggestive of a free rubato but solidly constructed piece whose melody is almost exclusively built upon the octave and the fifth upward and downwards arpeggiation-like broken chord fragments. Interspersed with punctuated repeated notes and very slowly expanding harmonic shifts, this gently moving piece is more hesitant and relaxed in its demeanor and expanded development in its higher recapitulation before a fading away coda extends the piece between an exchange between both hands.
