Olympic Fanfare & Theme (Williams), 4.40

Olympic Fanfare and Theme (orch. August 2007) is a band arrangement based on the original John Williams orchestral piece written for the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympic Games.  The theme has become widely popular and still played at the present games today, most notably associated with the theme music exclusively covered by NBC’s Olympics television coverage.  Scored for Symphonic Concert Band a step lower (in Bb major which makes for a more easily playable and brighter key for Brass), this arrangement is thoughtfully prepared and carefully accurate to the original orchestral score, retaining all the lines, counterlines, harmonizations, dynamics, articulations and nuances to allow for a faithful representation of the composer’s work.
