O Come, O Come Emmanuel (arr. March 2012) is an arrangement for orchestra and an optional solo singer (and background choir) of the religiously inspired public domain carol. The vocal melody is cued throughout the different sections of the orchestra for performances without a singer. This arrangement features a starkly dark introduction and first verse that builds in intensity throughout the piece in a medieval and modal influenced setting. The orchestral accompaniment is active, stretches across a broad range of registers and echoes of Renaissance style harmonies and progressions make this arrangement a memorable and moving experience.
