Macy’s Fireworks on NBC (composed October-December 2013) will feature new patriotic orchestral and choral arrangements that air for the celebration of America’s July 4th, 2014 independence day concert spectacular in a televised worldwide broadcasting event.
Nathan’s arrangements will be heard that night that will feature a fireworks display against the backdrop of the Brooklyn Bridge, the harbor, the East River and the amazing New York City skyline. It is an annual one-of-a-kind spectacle since 1976 that will once again inspire audiences nationwide as it illuminates the shores of lower Manhattan and Brooklyn with stunning effects, color and sound.
With more than 40,000 shells from all over the world expected to go off over the Hudson River, Macy’s annual pyrotechnic extravaganza is thought to be the costliest and most explosive in the United States. In fact, Macy’s bills the show “as the nation’s largest display of pyrotechnic firepower.”
Musical guests include teen heartthrob Justin Beiber, the New York Pops and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The show will be broadcast on NBC. “Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks, along with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade are two of our signature events.” says Orlando Veras, a spokesman, in an email. “They are part of our DNA and we will continue to produce them for years to come.”
Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks display is the largest in the United States and each year they deliver a truly spectacular display of fireworks. The fireworks are launched from four barges in the Hudson River and are visible from Manhattan’s West Side, as well as New Jersey, as well as broadcast live on TV. Special singers will include Idina Menzel singing the National Anthem as well as a large chorus in some of America’s most patriotic folk songs, cherished anthems and fanfares.
