Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (vers. 2)

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (arr. Aug. 2013) is another reworking of this popular 1944 carol solo first used in the musical “Meet Me in St. Louis” in the keys of B major and modulating to Db major for singer and orchestra or optional orchestra only.  This version of the carol uses borderline modern extended harmonizations while maintain a traditional sense of the wintery Christmas formalism that characterizes most other hymnal carols.   Orchestrated with a smaller scale orchestra in mind, this orchestration blends small winds and brass ensembles with densely moving String pads that combine in lushly beautiful and romantic overtones that are at once heartwarming and tranquil.
