Hark the Herald Angels Sing (vers. 2)

Hark the Herald Angels Sing (arr. December 2013) is a new arrangement with a contemporary pop and R&B feel.  Deliberately created to service the vocals, this new orchestral arrangement supports and moves against the singer in smooth extended harmonies and modern voiced String pads.  This arrangement is a fresh take on a familiar classic written by Mendelssohn and compasses two and a half repetitions of the carol and an orchestral interlude at the Bridge.  The keys are in D major and, later, E major, ideally suited for low Altos or Baritones and they are underpinned by richly textured and harmonically supple chromatic voicings and counterlines throughout.
