47. Orange and Red Ochre, 2.34

Orange and Red Ochre (composed June 2012) is a piano solo firmly rooted in twentieth century harmonic and melodic material. From its low rumbling beginnings that quickly skyrocketing scalular upwards motion, the piece is replete with fleeting arpeggio flourish, subtle soft trills and wandering and dissipating lyrical lines, this piece is a somber homage to the colors of Autumn. Profuse textural and dynamic changes paint a vivid picture of rustling, quivering and swirling airy atmospheric gestures that dive and plumet, creating engaging and compelling music that is tactile, disarmingly innocent and haunting.
