15. White Spaces, 4.26

White Spaces (composed November 2006) is a piano solo of an impressionistic nature which begins quietly and hesitantly, as if wandering. The gentle floating chords soon shift overhead towards more concrete statements that are played softly but clearly. However, like the patterns of shifting clouds, these white spaces begin to coalesce until the piece grows to the top of the keyboard, where both hands participate in a sparkling texture of beautifully rhythmic chords in a faster Più mosso section before ultimately returning to the opening motives of transparent, softly played, open chord patterns.
